About Us
The Gold Mine Hotel, located in historic Gold Hill, Nevada, is in an area rich with history and lore of the Old West.
Near Reno, Nevada, Gold Hill was incorporated in 1865, after gold was found in the Comstock Lode. Ironically, many young men going west to search for riches in California came through the town not knowing the very thing they sought lay right beneath their feet in Gold Hill!
When the gold disappeared, so did the town's inhabitants; Gold Hill became a ghost town. It's just recently that gold has been found again, luring people back to the area, and some say, luring the ghosts out of hiding!
